Where is Humanity – A poem by CYC Member Rahma Mohamed

Where is Humanity?

Looking for people but no one to be found,
Where is humanity? Too busy looking for a pound.

Who, what, where, when and why?
Questions that are on people’s minds all the time.

The world is arguing it’s not fair,
Us young ones don’t want to just sit back and bare.

We all want a home to call our own,
Not feel threatened by the presence of a drone.

Adults arguments have ended in fight,
Safety, food and drink, family, kids have lost their rights.

Kindness and care is looking a bit bare,
Don’t just stop and stare, that’s not very fair.

Scared of history, can’t go back to the past,
Give each other a hug, don’t make it your last.

Solve this problem, put it together,
We can do it with each other.

Leaders in control you have the power,
Take word from the citizens and make their voices louder.

The world we want is full of love and care,
Drop your weapons and meet us there.
