The themes that the questions/activities consisted of were; information, wellbeing, teaching, care and leadership which follow the Commissioned Alternative Provision Quality Assurance Framework used by Cardiff Council.
Positive results from the inspection were that the pupils of ACT feel that; their school council is effective, complaints are dealt with effectively, teaches support them and give them extra help when and if needed, and they generally feel safe, supported and listened to (by ACT staff).
All the data collated during the inspection has been written up in a report and shared with the EOTAS services manager.
ACT is a training provider for young people aged 16+ who also provide tuition services for key stages 3 and 4 for Cardiff council. This is a part of the EOTAS (educated other than at school) service that Cardiff provide.
The inspection of ACT’s EOTAS tuition service was carried out by the active involvement team and Cardiff youth council members who have been trained as young inspectors. The young inspectors were also heavily involved in the development of the interactive and engaging resources used during the inspection.
The inspection sessions were split into 5 themes. Each theme had a different activity and all had different responses from the pupils of ACT.
Arolwg ACT
Mae ACT yn ddarparwr hyfforddiant ar gyfer pobl ifanc oedran 16+, sydd hefyd yn cynnig gwasanaethau mentora ar gyfer cyfnodau allweddol 3 a 4 yng Nghyngor Caerdydd. Mae hyn yn rhan o’r gwasanaeth addysgu nid yn yr ysgol y mae Caerdydd yn ei gynnig.
Arolygwyd gwasanaeth tiwtora addysgu nid yn yr ysgol gan ACT gan y tîm cyfraniad actif ac aelodau cyngor ieuenctid Caerdydd, sydd wedi eu hyfforddi fel arolygwyr ifainc. Bu’r arolygwyr ifainc hefyd yn rhan fawr o ddatblygu adnoddau rhyngweithiol a bachog yn ystod yr arolwg.
Rhannwyd y sesiynau arolygu yn 5 thema. Roedd gweithgaredd gwahanol ar gyfer pob thema a chafodd pop un ymateb gwahanol gan ddisgyblion ACT. Y themâu yn y cwestiynau/gweithgareddau oedd: gwybodaeth, lles, addysgu, gofal ac arweiniad, sy’n dilyn Fframwaith Sicrwydd Safon Darpariaeth Arall a Gomisiynir y mae Cyngor Caerdydd yn ei ddefnyddio.
Canlyniadau cadarnhaol yr arolwg oedd bod disgyblion ACT yn teimlo bod cyngor eu hysgol yn effeithiol, yr ymdrinnir â chwynion yn effeithiol, bod athrawon yn eu cynorthwyo ac yn rhoi cymorth ychwanegol iddynt pan fo angen, os oes angen, a’u bod yn teimlo’n ddiogel yn gyffredinol a’u bod nhw’n cael cefnogaeth a chlust (gan staff ACT).
