Launch of Cardiff Education Strategy 2030

Cardiff 2030 was launched on November 19th 2019, it is a 10 year strategy that aims to widen the horizons within education in Cardiff. Connor Clarke member of CYC played a strategic role in the development of Cardiff 2030 as he sat on the Education Development Board which oversaw the development of the strategy from the very start. Lois Render another member of CYC compared the launch event which included speeches from CYC members Connor Clarke, Fahadi Mukulu & Thorfin Moffat alongside Cllr Huw Thomas Leader of Cardiff Council, Cllr Sarah Merry Deputy Leader of Cardiff Council and Cabinet Member of Education & Nick Batchelar the Director of Education for Cardiff Council.

Citywide partnership and Children’s rights are key to Cardiff 2030, recognising that Education is Everybody’s Business and that Cardiff is aspiring to be a UNICEF Child Friendly City. It sets out an ambitious vision, underpinned by two themes, five goals and priority commitments. One of the key themes that runs throughout is participation of children and young people, a pledge that Cardiff 2030 has upheld by involving young people from the very early stages to the running of the launch. Fahadi Mukulu the Chair of CYC also signed the document alongside the Leader of Cardiff Council Huw Thomas.

Lansio Strategaeth Addysg Caerdydd 2030

Cafodd Caerdydd 2030 ei lansio ar 19 Tachwedd 2019, mae’n strategaeth 10 mlynedd sydd â’r nod o ehangu gorwelion addysg yng Nghaerdydd. Chwaraeodd Connor Clarke, aelod o CIC, ran strategol o ran datblygu Caerdydd 2030 oherwydd roedd yn rhan o’r Bwrdd Datblygu Addysg wnaeth oruchwylio datblygiad y strategaeth o’r cychwyn cyntaf. Roedd Lois Render, aelod arall o CIC, yn arwain y digwyddiad oedd yn cynnwys areithiau gan aelodau CIC Connor Clarke, Fahadi Mukulu a Thorfin Moffat ochr yn ochr â’r Cynghorydd Huw Thomas, Arweinydd Cyngor Caerdydd, y Cynghorydd Sarah Merry, Dirprwy Arweinydd Cyngor Caerdydd ac Aelod Cabinet dros Addysg, a Nick Batchelar, Cyfarwyddwr Addysg Cyngor Caerdydd.

Mae partneriaeth ledled y Ddinas a hawliau Plant yn chwarae rhan allweddol yn Caerdydd 2030, gan gydnabod fod Addysg yn Bwysig i Bawb a bod Caerdydd ag uchelgais i fod yn Ddinas UNICEF sy’n Dda i Blant. Mae’n nodi’r weledigaeth uchelgeisiol, yn seilieidg ar ddwy thema, pum nod ac ymrwymiadau i’w blaenoriaethu. Un o’r themâu allweddol sy’n rhan fawr o’r cyfranogiad yw plant a phobl ifanc, addewid y mae Caerdydd 2030 wedi’i gadarnhau drwy gynnwys pobl ifanc o’r camau cyntaf i’r lansiad. Gwnaeth Fahadi Mukulu, Cadeirydd CIC, lofnodi’r ddogfen ochr yn ochr ag Arweinydd Cyngor Caerdydd, Huw Thomas.
